My Favorite Features in Plunet 7.2 – Improvements on Job Level

In the fourth blog post (find the others here: #1, #2, #3) of the series “My Favorite Features in Plunet 7.2” our colleague Simon Van Renterghem tells us all about the most exciting improvements that have been made at job level.

Enjoy reading.

When releasing new Plunet versions, we not only add new components, we of course improve the existing features as well. In Plunet 7.2, we took a closer look at the job level. The changes we made there will save you time, provide you with the information you need, where and when you need it, and they will also help you to further reduce the risk of inconsistencies. A complete list of all improvements – yes there are even more! – can be found in the Release Notes. Here is my selection:

Problem

If you wanted to change the status of all jobs with a particular status, you had to do this for every job individually.

Solution

In the job list, you now can select all the jobs with a particular status and then change that status for all of these jobs at once.

Problem

In order to add a job comment, you had to open every job separately.

Solution

Now you can add job comments to multiple jobs at once.

Problem

You wanted to fine-tune your vendor search by adding properties to a job type, but only a maximum of five properties could be selected for each job type.

Solution

We lifted this property limit. Now you can add as many properties as you need – and thus fulfill quality requirements and ensure ISO compliance.

Problem

Until now, job feedback was mandatory for vendors with the right Submit job feedback.

Solution

There is now an additional configuration option that enables vendors to deliver jobs without having to give feedback.

Who needs it?

Everybody will benefit from this. The main benefit is that it will become a lot easier to perform certain actions.

What do I love about it?

To me, the simplicity of the solutions is the nicest thing about them. It doesn’t always take big new features and major changes to improve software. The simple elimination of repetitive clicking to perform a task multiple times is something that surely not only I will like!
