Business Process Management for Translation Industry through expanded interoperatibilty of Plunet and Across
LOS ANGELES and BERLIN – May 20, 2009 – Plunet BusinessManager now has an extended interface to the Across Language Server; the interface was developed in close collaboration with customers of the two companies. Plunet has been more deeply integrated with Across than with any other translation management platform, providing a smooth solution that includes translation management and business process management.
With the Plunet connection, the functionality of the Across Language Server as a central platform for language resources and translation processes is expanded to include advanced business process management (BPM). Features include the management of translator master data including individual conditions as well as translation pricing calculation including quote and order processing. Accounting of translation jobs, including invoicing and reminders, can also now be processed using this interface. Management of respective accounts and creation of financial reports are also possible.
The first showcase of the integrated solution will take place at the Localization World Conference to be held in Berlin on June 8-10, 2009.
Stefan Dümig, CEO of Plunet, says: "Business process management of translation projects is subject to peculiar rules. Our solution was specifically designed to account for this. Our product and the Language Server of Across complement each other perfectly. Seamless and intelligently automated translation and BMP workflows will significantly simplify the everyday work of all those involved in the project."
The financial processing of translation jobs greatly depends on the content to be translated, rate of repetitions from existing translations, target languages, quality requirements and so on. Thanks to the seamless interaction of the two systems, all relevant translation and process data from Across are available in Plunet; conversely, project parameters stored in Plunet are integrated into corresponding Across projects.
In particular, internal language service departments of large companies and external language service providers benefit from a smooth process for functions ranging from translation order to correct accounting and booking, thanks to the integrated solution. This ensures transparency, speeds processing time and saves costs.
The Across Language Server comprises a translation memory and a terminology system as well as tools for project management and workflow control. As an end-to-end solution, it is optimized to meet the demands of companies and their collaboration with language service providers, thus enabling a seamless linguistic supply chain.
Plunet BusinessManager is a leading BPM tool for the translation industry. A standard package highlights, among other things, quote, order and invoice management, including comprehensive financial reports, flexible job and workflow management as well as deadline, document and partner management.
"Providing open interfaces for the interconnection of corresponding solutions is part of the platform architecture of our product. We are happy that Plunet expands the Language Server with an important component of business project management, thus realizing a degree of integration available with no other tool in the market," says Daniel Nackovski, president of Across Systems Inc.
